  • How to get an affordable long-term care policy

    If you will need nursing home care or at-home care for an extended period of time, it is a good idea to look into long-term care policies.  However, these policies can be quite expensive.  In fact, long-term care can be one of the biggest expenses that most seniors face.  Further, private health insurance companies, as well as Medicare and Medicaid, typically do not cover the majority of the costs.  For example, Medicare may cover the first 100 days of nursing home care, but nothing additional.  Therefore, obtaining long-term care policies can be quite crucial for many seniors.
